<image:title>On Apocalypses - Raven Monroe</image:title>
<image:caption>Raven Monroe is a playwright, actor, and singer with a BA in Theatre from UNC Charlotte and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU. Born in Charlotte, NC, she has a specific interest in creating work that highlights the area, as well as work that centers Black women and girls. Her play Love & Justice and Other Fairy Tales is a play based in the Piedmont of North Carolina and set around World War I. It’s a Romeo & Juliet style Southern tragedy that parallels the war abroad with the burgeoning war for racial equality at home. The first play in a three-play cycle that will follow one Southern Black family through the decades, it centers around young Ethel Parsons and her ill-advised romance with the son of a wealthy white family that employs her grandmother.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Samuel Yates, Ph.D., is a deaf artist and researcher who is currently Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies in the School of Theatre and Dance at Millikin University. His current book project, Cripping Broadway: Producing Disability in the American Musical investigates disability aesthetics and accessibility practices in Broadway musicals by asking how our notions of disability and the able body inform and transform the work of the laboring actor in commercial theatre. As a dramaturg and theatremaker, he has collaborated with companies such as the Abbey Theatre, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, the Kennedy Center, the Samuel Beckett Centre, Gala Hispanic Theatre, and New Harmony Theater. Beyond the theatre, Samuel has worked as arts and accessibility consultant with Gensler Architecture, the National Endowment for the Arts, and 3Arts Chicago. His work on disability, performance, and popular culture is published or forthcoming in the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Music Theatre Today, Studies in Musical Theatre, and Medicine and Literature, as well as edited volumes such as The Matter of Disability (U Michigan), A Cultural History of Disability in the Modern Age (Bloomsbury), and Monsters in Performance: Essays on the Aesthetics of Social Disqualification (Routledge).</image:caption>

<image:title>The Non-Binary Domestic Space Onstage - Les Gray</image:title>
<image:caption>Les Gray is an assistant professor of theatre at the University of Missouri. They hold a Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance Studies from University of Maryland, College Park. Les' primary research area focuses on Black cultural production and its relationship to trauma and terror. They approach framed and unframed events ranging from plays and blues dancing to police brutality videos through the lens of performance. Les considers performances of spectacular Black pain as well as considering the potential for joy, healing, and solidarity. While they pursue scholarship deeply invested in what it means to be ethical cultural producers, Dr. Gray’s work and theory is continually underscored by embodied knowledge and highlighting representations of intersectional identities which include race, sexuality class, disability, and gender. Their work is embedded in and indebted to Black radical feminism, queer theory, and disability studies. Dr. Gray is a dramaturg, director, collaborator, writer, and occasional performer.</image:caption>
